All of the works in this online exhibition, including the above yet untitled four photographs of decalcomania on canvas studies in grayscale, are taken from Kolker’s ‘The Best Is Yet To Be’ archive of about one hundred works on canvas made since mid-March through August 31, 2020 during the COVID-19 quarantine.
Kolker still works from his Long Island studio until such time that it is safe, for him, his staff, collectors and viewers, to return to the Paul Kolker Collection in the Chelsea art district.
Each art exhibition viewer serves as a measuring instrument for Kolker’s experiment using his works to stimulate and test her perceptions, understandings and feelings. For the time being this virtual online method of experiencing and testing works of artists may suffice lacking a better public health and safety alternative to congregating without masking and distancing at a gallery or museum to become, along with the art, part of the amazing dialogical spectacle of an ‘in vivo’ art exhibition.
